I was seeking the name of the bar in Fort Stanwix Hotel and discovered this site. I'm elated to see the details, photos, et al.
I am writing a novel that takes place on both sides of fictional mountain off Route 271 between Westmont and the Y leading to New Florence or Ligonier.
The story is set in 1951, and heretofore, I've suffered from a lack of material about 1950s Johnstown.
The story is a sci-fi thriller that occurs on the "faerie's dun" or Faryesdowne Mountain. The mountain is a gateway to another world ruled by a matriarchal society known as the Sorority.
warriors descend both sides of the dun in search of a former assassin who became an evangelist.
I wish to include this site in the acknowledgements.

I should like to discuss some of the more obscure memories, like the Brown Derby in Cambria City.
