I will never forget the stench that followed that flood. It has a smell all its own.

I know I'll never forget that night/morning. Then the dam breaking in tanneryville. Totally heartbreaking.

I was about 7 or 8 and I was staying with my aunt in Prosser st. For the summer from nj . We were lucky to be up on the hill & safe. But I needed stitches and we had to go downtown. The hospital was a mess.
The smell was unbearable. When I finally got back to nj I had scabies from the contaminated water. It's an experience I will never forget.

I was abt 7 and visiting my aunt on Prosser st for the summer. I remember sleeping on my aunts floor listening to the radio..flash flood! The damn has broken!
Luckily we were safe up on hill. but I remember being able to go to the top of the block and see the devastation. Unfortunately I required an ER visit during the chaos. The hospital was a disaster . Stink& mud everywhere. Worst stench ever. When my parents were finally able to get me back home, I brought home a lovely case of itchy scabies from the flood & contamination
