A fire occurred on the morning of Friday, the 9th in Wm. Orr's Cabinet Ware Rooms. It was communicated to the roof from the stove-pipe, but after doing some damage and effectually scaring the good people of Johnstown, it was fortunately quelled. When will our Town Fathers become aroused to the importance of keeping our fire-engines always ready and always in repair? When?

The dedication of the German Lutheran Church took place, according to arrangement, on Sabbath last. The ceremonies were quites solemn and imposing.

The California fever has not yet subsided  in town. Several young men, influenced perhaps, by the favorable reports concerning the diggings brought by returned Cambrians, have determined to leave about the first of February. We admire their spirit.
