One of the feature of WAAC Week, now in progress, was the public induction of three new recruits over station WJAC Tuesday evening. Lt. Thyrza Magnus (left), in charge of recruiting in the Johnstown area, swore in Jane Gerber of Johnstown R.D. 7, Mary E. McCleary of 2710 Graham Ave., Windber, and Helen Steele of 2700 Graham Ave., Windber. All four seemed especially happy about it. The Women's Army Auxilliary Corps is seeking 120 women volunteers in Cambria Co. during the month of April.
